Celebrating International Day of Charity

Scotland is currently facing a mental health crisis. According to the most recent CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) waiting times, published by Public Health Scotland in December 2021, for the quarter ending 30 September 2021, there were 11,816 children and young people in Scotland waiting to be seen by CAMHS. In September 2020 the number was 9,699. A staggering 56% were waiting over 18 weeks to be seen.
The Polar Academy is a transformative youth charity that works with communities, schools and families to identify young people in Scotland suffering with mental health challenges. Through an intensive 10-month physical and mental training programme, we give young people the tools to deal with future mental health challenges, achieve the unbelievable and transform their lives – for good.
